The Parish Clergy are away at the Diocesan Council in Vicksburg this weekend. Many thanks to the Reverend Harold Roberts for taking services and preaching today.
EYC next meeting Saturday, February 25 for hockey and ice skating. Meet at the church at 6:00 pm. More details to come.
Christian Education: Sunday School for all ages. Adult Forum and Bible Study - Meets in the Kindness upstairs in the Parish Hall.
Wednesday Bible Study led by the Reverend Bruno Schroeder meets at 10:00 AM each Wednesday upstairs in the Parish Hall. The next Sunday’s lectionary is discussed.
Wednesday Night - 5:30 PM - Holy Eucharist with healing followed by dinner. Young Families Group - Meet February 8. We join Wonderful Wednesday for dinner at 6:00 P.M. and at 6:30 P.M. we will meet upstairs for the next segment of “Permission to Speak Freely.”
Living the Questions - Meets Thursdays at 2:00 PM in the Kindness Room upstairs in the Parish Hall. The Reverend Harold Roberts is the mentor and may be contacted at 872-9036.

Inquirers’/Confirmation Classes for Adults begin on February 19th during the Christian Education time. There is a sign-up on the Usher Table to indicate your interest and to reserve reading materials for the course. Confirmation will be March 25 at 4:00 PM at St. John’s. Everyone is welcome to attend...Even as a refresher on the church.
Holy Baptism will be offered at the 11:15 A.M. service on February 12. Contact the church office for more information.

Saints & Sinners meet this Thursday at 6:30 PM in the parish hall for food and fellowship. Call Chuck Aldrich at 875-2673 to let them know you are coming so there will be plenty of food.
“Soup and Cinema” begins on Thursday, February 16, at 6:00 P.M. We’ll begin with a meal of soup and bread. The first film of the series is the classic silent film, The Passion of Joan of Arc, made in 1928 by Carl Th. Dreyer. There is no charge for the evening. Childcare will be provided.
Coast Convocation Altar Guild is meeting at St. John’s on February 11, 9:00 AM until 12 Noon. The Flower Guild is providing a program on using plants and flowers found in natural vegetation that may be used to adorn the altar. All ladies of the parish are invited to attend and welcome ladies from our sister churches on the coast. Brunch will be served.
St. John’s Preschool has been asked to assist St. John’s Church with their Orlando timeshare this year. As a result, the preschool is selling raffle tickets for a one week vacation for $20.00. The yearly maintenance fee is $900.00. Please consider buying a ticker. Drawing will be held on February 29. Tickets are available from the Preschool and Church Offices.
Tabitha’s Friends meet Monday night at 6:30 PM. Bring your knitting, crochet or other project. If you want to learn, someone will be available to help you get started. Yarn is available but you will need to provide your own needles. Contact Barbara Mabry at 327-2931 for details.
LENT SOUP SUPPERS sign-up board is in the Parish Hall foyer.
Religious Book Group will meet on Thursday, March 1, at 6:00 PM to discuss Surprises Around the Bend edited by Richard A. Hasler. It is a collection of short essays by famous personages from times past and present. Books are $5.00 each and available in the church office.
Outreach Opportunities–Samaritan Ministry Food Pantry volunteers are needed the week of February 13. Contact the Reverend Jim Lancaster - 228-380-0775 to volunteer.
The Lord is My Help weeks for St. John’s to provide volunteers for 2012 are: March 5-9; May 7-11; July 9-13; September 4-7 and November 5-9. Contact Peggy Butera at 875-7049 to volunteer for any of these dates.
Mardi Gras Party at St. John’s Parish Hall Saturday, February 18, bring snacks to share and your own beverages. Mixes will be provided. Fun begins at 6:30 PM. Music by DJ Bru.
